What OwnMyWork Does

OwnMyWork is an authorized agent service. We help copyright owners — primarily independent content creators — submit DMCA takedown notices to platforms and service providers under 17 U.S.C. § 512. We act on behalf of rights holders who authorize us to file on their behalf.

We do not host, store, or distribute user-created content. We generate, transmit, and track DMCA notices on behalf of the copyright owners who use our platform.

Notices We File on Your Behalf

When you use OwnMyWork to submit a DMCA takedown notice, you are authorizing OwnMyWork to act as your designated agent for that notice. By submitting a case, you declare under penalty of perjury that:

  1. You own or are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the copyrighted work
  2. The identified material is infringing and was not authorized for the use you are reporting
  3. The information in your notice is accurate to the best of your knowledge

OwnMyWork does not independently verify copyright ownership. Accuracy and authorization are your responsibility. Filing a false or bad-faith notice may expose you to liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).

Reporting Infringing Content on OwnMyWork

If you believe content on ownmywork.com infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent containing the following:

  6. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner

Counter-Notification

If you believe material was removed from ownmywork.com in error or as a result of misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification. A valid counter-notification must include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature
  2. Identification of the material that was removed and its prior location on the site
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification
  4. Your name, address, and phone number
  5. Consent to jurisdiction in the federal district court for your address (or, if outside the US, any judicial district in which OwnMyWork may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the party who filed the original notice

Send counter-notifications to [email protected]. Upon receipt of a valid counter-notification, we will forward it to the original complainant. If the complainant does not file a court action within 10–14 business days, we may restore the removed material at our discretion.

Repeat Infringer Policy

OwnMyWork maintains a repeat infringer policy in compliance with 17 U.S.C. § 512(i). Users who are subject to multiple valid, uncontested DMCA complaints on our platform may have their accounts terminated. We evaluate repeat infringement claims in good faith and reserve the right to remove content and terminate accounts without prior notice in clear cases of abuse.

Abuse of Process

We take the integrity of the DMCA process seriously. Filing knowingly false takedown notices using our platform is a violation of our Terms of Service and may constitute perjury under federal law. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts involved in abusive filings and to cooperate with any legal proceedings that arise from such conduct.
